ANAHEIM — The Ducks chipped the rust off backup goaltender Anthony Stolarz and sent him out onto the ice to face the Ottawa Senators in their annual Black Friday matinee at Honda Center. John Gibson got a well-earned rest after eight consecutive starts and three straight defeats.

Stolarz made 34 saves and the Ducks halted their skid with a 4-0 victory over the Senators. Isac Lundestrom, Derek Grant, Troy Terry (power play) and Rickard Rakell scored for the Ducks, who built a commanding lead after a sluggish start after taking Thanksgiving off to rest and recuperate.

In time, the Ducks found their legs and their game, looking like their old selves again after road losses to the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday and the Nashville Predators on Monday. The Ducks’ losing streak started with a home loss to the Carolina Hurricanes on Nov. 18.

Adam Henrique returned to the Ducks’ lineup after sitting out Wednesday’s game because of an unspecified upper-body injury. Henrique rejoined the Ducks’ top line of Terry and Ryan Getzlaf. Terry scored his team-leading 13th goal with the Ducks on a power play late in the second period.

More to come on this story.
