Connor Bowie scored late in the first period on the power-play and Caden Brown added an insurance goal in the second.
The (18-21-1-1) Cougars continue their U.S. Division road trip when they visit the (11-23-3-1) Spokane Chiefs tonight.
Prince George is 3rd in the B.C. Division and 6th in the Western Conference, four points ahead of the (16-20-2) Vancouver Giants.

Bowie’s goal snapped a 10-game goalless streak, as he scored for the first time since December 15th. Brennan’s shutout was his first since November 9th. The Cougars split their four-game season series with Tri-City and are now 3-7-1-0 against the U.S. Division this season. Cayden Glover (upper body) and Jonny Hooker (lower body) did not play. The Cougars had two affiliate players in the lineup in Hunter Laing and Zackary Shantz.

The WHL has announced that Taylor Gauthier of the Portland Winterhawks has been named the WHL Goaltender of the Month for January.
The 20-year-old former PG Cougar posted a 7-0-0-0 January record, to go along with a 1.70 goals-against average, a .945 save percentage, and one shutout.
Gauthier helped Portland post a 10-0-0-1 record last month.
He posted a perfect 7-0-0-0 January record for the @pdxwinterhawks.
