CHAMBERLAIN -- Joey Cole did not surrender a run to send Winner/Colome past Chamberlain/Kimball/Lyman 10-0 in five innings Wednesday in prep baseball action.
Cole went the distance, allowing two hits and four walks, while striking out eight in the win. He also had an RBI at the plate for the Royals. Zach Bohnet and Aiden Barfuss had two RBIs apiece, while Aaron Gilchrist went 2-for-3.
Carter Lenz and Cam Caldwell combined to allow six earned runs on seven hits and 10 walks, while striking out four for CKL.
Winner/Colome (5-4) plays St. Thomas More Sunday Winner. CKL plays Gregory County on May 13 in Gregory.
MENNO -- Canton scored seven unanswered runs to take down Scotland/Menno in prep baseball action Wednesday.
The Trappers scored nine runs in the third and fourth innings, but three errors and two hit batters allowed the C-Hawks to take control.
Radin Huyser went 2-for-5 with three RBIs for Canton (4-6), while Zach Richardson was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Seth Peterson also went 4-for-5 with an RBI. Matt Anderson allowed 10 earned runs on nine hits and three walks, while Peterson did not allow a run on one hit in three innings of relief.
Jacob Schott had three RBIs, while Kadeyn Ulmer knocked in two runs for Scotland/Menno (2-8). Dawson Bietz also went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Bietz allowed seven earned runs on 11 hits, while striking out seven.
The Trappers face Parkston/Ethan/Tripp Friday in Parkston. The C-Hawks travel to Wagner Saturday.
SALEM -- Lennox limited McCook to one run on two hits over six innings to score a win Wednesday.
Peyton Eich pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run and did not surrender a walk, while fanning five batters for the Orioles. Brandon Otte went 3-for-4 with five RBIs and Brandon Fodness went 3-for-4, while Lance Spieler and Brett Duncan had two hits apiece.
Avery Feterl drove in the lone run for the Burros, while also giving up five earned runs on five hits and three walks over 2 1/3 innings. Gavin Gordon allowed five earned runs on seven hits and struck out four in 3 2/3 innings.
McCook (2-6) hosts Sioux Falls Christian Saturday in Salem. Lennox (6-6) hosts Dell Rapids/St. Mary Sunday.
