CREVE COUER (WEEK) - On a clear sunny day like Friday, a local tree farm in Creve Couer would have loved to host their opening day. However, the pandemic affected this split decision.
Blanks Evergreen Acres will not open this season due to COVID-19 concerns.
This is usually the spot's busiest time but the "cut your own" tree farm wants to keep everyone to stay safe in these uncertain times.
Longtime owner Jan Blank says the toughest thing isn't about the business, it's about the people.
"A lot of people enjoy coming out. It's close to get here. Hate to disappoint them. We'll still be here next year god-willing. They'll grow next year. They'll just be a little bigger. It's alright. It'll be alright," Blank said.
The farm typically sells 500 trees during the holiday season. While none will be purchased this season from the tree farm, Blank is ready to sell taller ones next Christmas.
