The United States is at nearly 160,000 COVID-19 deaths and counting. We’re in worst place.

While the rest of the world is now cycling through the pandemic into a relatively new normal, we’re still driving a belching old Buick all over the back roads, hitting every road sign, mail box and possum along the way.

America was clicking along pretty well there for a couple hundred years or so. We were respected. The rest of the world counted on our youthful energy, intelligence and integrity to lead the way in tough times. And then COVID-19 happened. And we got Trumped.

Now we’re like the last kid in gym class to get picked to play kick ball. Sorry, rest of the world.

We got a bad case of Trump cooties right now. But we’re looking for the cure.

It is what it is.
