The Lake Erie Crushers returned to the win column on Sept. 11. Lake Erie shut out Evansville, 2-0, in their second to last game of the season.
The Crushers didn’t collect many hits, but when they did, they made them count. Both Trevor Achenbach and Javier Betancourt hit solo home runs — those two swings proved to be the difference. Despite picking up the win, Lake Erie was outhit by Evansville.
Crushers’ pitchers Sam Curtis and Aaron Glickstein combined for 7 2/3 innings, allowing six hits with three strikeouts.
