Original members of the Blank Canvas Gallery presented a reunion art show from Thursday to Sunday, Aug. 12-15.
“I would say we had about 200 people who came on the opening night. It was very well attended, and we had very nice compliments about the show and how very nice it appeared,” said Bickey Bender, a local arts organizer. “I think it proves exactly what we hoped – that you can have a fine arts show in Park Rapids, Minnesota in the armory.”

The collection of art pieces ranged from paintings to photography to woodcarvings. Artists with work on display were Chuck Weygand, Dawn Rossbach, Deane Johnson, Denise Gulbranson, Bender, Gayla Orr, Gina Singer, Glenn Anderson, Jeremy Simonson, Jerry Wegenast, Judy Wegenast, Karen Sharbo, Laura Grisamore, Lowell Wolff, Paul Albright, Raymond Wattenhofer, Sandra Johnson, Tara Wolff, Terri Young, Ti Besonen and Jill Geisen-Clack.
The Blank Canvas Gallery opened June 2010 in downtown Park Rapids. During its five years of operation, more than 80 artists had the opportunity to exhibit their work.
