DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) - Blank Park Zoo announced it will be switching to any day ticket sales beginning June 23. It will alson be offering a discount to visit the zoo after 2 p.m.
Additionally, members won’t need to reserve tickets anymore. However, non-members are still asked to pre-purchase tickets on blankparkzoo.com.
Zoo officials say the indoor Discovery Center will also be open to the public starting June 23, and the train, carousel, camel ride and Kids’ Kingdom animal contact exhibit have also opened.
The park still has limited capacity and visitors are encouraged to avoid peak times. Staff says the discounted tickets for after 2 p.m. is to encourage visitors to come in the afternoon.
Zoo hours will change to 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 1.
