Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank is among those proving the intersection of sports and politics will never go away.
With Election Day rapidly approaching and the fight between incumbent Donald Trump and Joe Biden for the U.S. President title heating up, more details are emerging about what celebrities and influential figures support each campaign, either by endorsement or financial donation.
Blank, who has owned the Atlanta Falcons since 2002, gave Biden and the Democratic Party a substantial amount of money.

Although many sports owners lean right politically, consider Arthur Blank an exception to the rule.
Blank, 78, has long been a supporter of the Democratic Party. According to Sports Illustrated, Blank donated $32,400 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in 2013.
Blank, the co-founder of Home Depot, donated another $28,5000 to the Obama Victory Fund in 2008. He donated $24,000 to the Hillary Clinton Victory Fund in 2016.
Blank has also donated to Republicans. He gave $10,000 to the Georgia Republican Party, Inc., in 2008.

As evidenced by the owners and power players in sports, the intersection of sports and politics isn’t going away anytime soon.
Arthur Blank isn’t the only sports figure making their political feelings felt as the election nears. That especially holds true in the NFL, both with regards to current and former players and personnel.
Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre is a vocal Donald Trump supporter. His ex-coach, Mike Holmgren, recently ripped Trump for his handling of the coronavirus pandemic.
Packers owner Robert Kraft has long had a relationship with Trump, although Kraft has been critical of Trump at times. Trump feuded with the NFL when several players, including Colin Kaepernick, took a knee for the national anthem.
Jets owner Woody Johnson serves as Trump’s ambassador to the United Kingdom. Johnson’s brother, Christopher, is running the day-to-day operations in New York.
Legendary Chicago Bears head coach Mike Ditka, a former ESPN analyst, is an extremely vocal Trump supporter. Former Pro Bowl safety Burgess Owens, another Trump supporter, is running for U.S. House of Representatives in Utah’s 4th congressional district.
Owens also contributes to Fox News.
Elsewhere, former Raiders standout defensive back Nnamdi Asomugha campaigned for Joe Biden in North Carolina.
