The Ben Lippen Falcons swept the Northwood Academy Chargers 3-0 (25- 10, 25-18, and 25-13) Tuesday, September 1.

Northwood grabbed the first two points in Game 1, but then Ben Lippen stormed back with eight straight points to take an 8-2 lead. Madison Koerner, Tori Pack, and MJ Hurd scored during the run. Some errors by the Falcons aided in the Chargers closing the gap to 9-5. Then Ben Lippen regrouped and scored 11 of the next 14 points. Koerner, Pack, and Ainsley Martin started the run. Alivia Martin earned a pair of aces and got another point later in the run, all while serving. Hurd picked up a couple of points to close the run out.

Northwood shrunk the deficit to 20-10 before the Falcons finished the game out with five straight points, including a winner from Ainsley Martin and a pair of aces from Anna Grace Martin, to give Ben Lippen the win 25-10.

The momentum carried over to Game 2, as the Falcons stormed out to a 9- 2 lead. Pack, Ainsley Martin, MJ Hurd, and Julia Hurd all scored.

The Chargers fought back taking three of the next four to close the gap to 10-5. The Falcons pushed the lead back to eight following scores from Pack, Kaylee Moore, and Mei Mei Temples. Northwood answered with an 8-4 run to shrink the deficit to 19-16. However, once again Ben Lippen closed the door, scoring six of the next eight points to win 25-18. Koerner had a kill, Anna Grace Martin earned a couple of points, and Pack had the game-deciding score.

Game 3 started out closer than the previous two. There were only two lead changes, but the score was tied four times. Northwood took advantage of some Ben Lippen miscues and got an early 3-1 lead. Pack helped the Falcons tie the score at 3-3, only to see the Chargers regain the lead and hold a 5-3 edge.

Two aces by Anna Grace Martin helped Ben Lippen take a 6-5 lead. Despite two more ties, the Falcons would hold. The final tie breaker came at 11-11. Ben Lippen scored the next point to take the lead. From there, Pack, Moore, Koerner, and Ainsley Martin scored as the Falcons pulled away with a 25-13 win.
